keyboard napkin - no more nasty key crumbs

The Keyboard Napkin

Its funny how the simplest things can be the most useful. Take a look at this brilliant but simple idea. Its a napkin. But not just any napkin because it has a keyboard printed on it. Just stick it on your keyboard at lunch, dinner or whenever your munching and surfing and it will shield your keyboard from the falling cookie crumb, the stray nacho sauce or any other tidbits that tend to jam up the keys. But as far as coffee spillage goes, thats another invention. (unless these are waterproof??)

I'm afraid of heights

but i think i could overcome that if i lived here...

Casa 11 Mujeres (Eleven Women House) was designed by Mathias Klotz as a holiday home to accommodate a family with eleven daughters. Planned in bare concrete with travertine floors, this stunning house adapts to the contours of its site by its compact layout so as to offer breathtaking views from every room. Built on a 45 degree slope, “Eleven Woman” house is a vacation home at Beranda. It stands on a site sloping down to Cachagua beach on the Pacific, 140 kilometers north of Santiago, Chile. Sooo....hmmm...why does South America seem to get all the coolest architecture????

a dirty divinci

Scott Wade draws dirty pictures. Zooming through the dusty texas landscape in his blue and white mini cooper, he prepares the perfect canvas for his unusual dust art.

Everywhere he goes he draws an audience (no pun intended) - even in his grocery store parking lot. Check out the video and see more.

Dust art. It's grimey and its dirty, but someones gotta do it. Its Just cool!

too much paint on hand

It's a bird, its a plane... no, really...it's a hand!

The creator of these amazing and realistic works of art is hand painter, artist GUIDO DANIELE. Yes, amazingly enough, they are painted on hands and with such meticulous attention to detail - from every tiny hair in the fur, to the sparkling glint in each eye, that these animals seem to take on a life all their own. Italian born Danielle began this unusual mode of painting back in 1972 and then in 1999 broadened his work to include "body painting" where he paints models for advertising , commercials, fashion events and exhibitions. See more of his work at his website GuidoDaniele.com

It's amazing! And JUST COOL

solar air conditioning FINALLY!

It's about time! The day has come for solar powered Air Conditioning. Thanks to GreenCore.
It's not a pretty package, but it sure is a breath of fresh (uh...COOL) air! GreenCore offers a guilt free alternative to our standard energy hogging air conditioning systems which doesn't contribute to green house emissions and global warming. And talk about saving money on today's high energy bills? This is how to do it!
GreenCore's solar powered DC air conditioner combines the most efficient photovoltaic technology with DC engineered air conditioning innovation to provide green climate control and efficiently operates completely grid-free or as a hybrid air conditioning unit. The Greencore 10200 comes in two models: a fixed one, and a mobile version (which runs on 2 or 4 batteries). Using a single 170-watt solar panel, it can keep a 600 square-foot room cool. 600 sq feet is about the size of a modular classroom, an office or retail shop, a small mobile home, a single or double apartment, military tents etc. The applications are endless! And the cool thing about solar a/c is that when do we need air conditioning? When the hot sun is out of course. Makes sense doesn't it?
To find out more about this awesome technology check out the GreenCore Air website. Right now, two high-profile clients of Greencore are McDonald's and the US Navy. Both of them are testing the solar air conditioner units.
It's about time air conditioning went green. It's JUST COOL!

who lived here?

Abandoned houses have always held a fascination for me. They have a story to tell.
They hold memories and secrets.
I wonder... who lived here... and why did they leave?
It's been a long time since I've pulled off the side of a country road and snuck into an old abandoned house. What an adventure.... I think I'd like to do that again.

the future of light

It's the light of our future and it's called OLED.
oled lighting
Very soon, we will be illuminating whole walls of our homes with OLED wallpaper that will turn them into ambient lighting and even massive whole wall televisions. OLED will illuminate an office cube or a bike, even the veneer of your countertops, cupboard doors, and appliances making them light sources for your home! Just what is OLED?
Short for organic light-emitting diode, OLED is a display device that sandwiches carbon-based films between two charged electrodes, one a metallic cathode and one a transparent anode, usually being glass. The organic films consist of a hole-injection layer, a hole-transport layer, an emissive layer and an electron-transport layer. When voltage is applied to the OLED cell, the injected positive and negative charges recombine in the emissive layer and create electro luminescent light. Unlike LCDs, which require backlighting, OLED displays are emissive devices - they emit light rather than modulate transmitted or reflected light. OLED was invented by Eastman Kodak in the early 1980s. It is beginning to replace LCD technology in handheld devices such as PDAs and cellular phones because the technology is brighter, thinner, faster and lighter than LCDs, uses less power, offers higher contrast and is cheaper to manufacture.

oled lighting

General Electric is a leader in OLED technology and the quest to push efficiency in lighting applications to the next level. The glimpses we’ve been seeing are an exciting taste of what’s to come. Check out this video by GE that explains this mercury free and green technology and how it will change the way we think about lighting.

WOW! OLED is JUST COOL!

bacon bandaids

I've heard of putting steak on a black eye, but how about bacon and eggs on a boo-boo?

You can opt for the plain bacon variety or if you're one of those big breakfast eaters, you'll probably prefer the bacon and eggs bandages, (plus free toy inside.)

watermelons can blow your mind...

this morning when I was playing around in photoshop (as i often do) with watermelon colors I made up these cool optical illusions. Look at them for awhile. One grows while the other shrinks...

crazy huh?

But then which box looks larger - the light lime green or the dark magenta?? Oh my, I'm confused. And plus these squares are starting to drive my eyes batty.

The whole concept of how we see color and how it affects everything around us, though, is amazing!
and of course... JUST COOL!

smoking rat caught red handed...

This amazing shot of a smoking rat was caught in Oslo Sweden by sardine factory worker Karl Goram-Øiulfstad ! I don't read Swedish so I couldn't make out the exact translation in the article but it sounded like the photo was taken in the break room of the factory when apparently cigarettes were left burning in the ashtray and this mangy four legged taste tester tiptoed in for a smoke. The cigarette looks like a Marlboro but I can't be sure. Do they have those over there? I don't smoke.
Anyway, after seeing this, you won't find me in the canned sardine isle anymore... and I didn't know rats smoked. Did you?
Thats just WAY COOL!
